The Office of International Programs (OIP) warmly invites all exchange students to join an unforgettable one-day adventure to the beautiful Yilan County on September 3, 2026. This tour offers a perfect opportunity to experience Taiwan\u2019s unique culture, delicious local cuisine, beautiful scenery, and vibrant night market atmosphere while making new friends from around the world.<\/p>\n

The tour bus will depart from Wanxing Elementary School, conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from NCCU, at 11:00 a.m. As seats are limited, we encourage you to register early. Registration is open until August 13, 2026<\/strong>, or until all available spots have been filled.<\/p>\n

Our first stop is a delicious lunch featuring Yilan\u2019s famous Wengyao (urn-roasted) chicken. Slow-roasted in traditional earthenware jars over longan wood, the chicken is known for its crispy skin, tender meat, and rich flavor. Served whole at the table, it offers a fun and authentic Taiwanese dining experience, accompanied by a variety of local specialties.<\/p>\n

Next, enjoy a hands-on experience at the I-Cake Invention Gallery<\/strong>. Learn how Yilan\u2019s famous ultra-thin biscuits are made and create your own crispy treats to take home. This fun activity allows you to experience Taiwan\u2019s traditional food culture while creating your own handmade treats to enjoy.<\/p>\n

After satisfying your appetite, it’s time to take in the natural beauty of Meihua Lake, one of Yilan’s most picturesque destinations. Named after its plum blossom-shaped outline, the lake is surrounded by lush mountains and peaceful scenery. You may ride a bicycle to cycle around the lake or simply relax on a boat ride while enjoying the fresh air and stunning views. Don’t forget to capture some memorable photos of this beautiful landscape.<\/p>\n

To end the day, we will visit Luodong Night Market, one of Yilan’s most popular attractions. Immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere as you sample classic Taiwanese street food, including bubble tea, scallion pancakes, and potato balls. You will also have plenty of time to browse local shops, discover regional specialties, and pick up souvenirs while experiencing Taiwan’s vibrant night market culture. To wrap up the day, we will head back to NCCU by tour bus at 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

The registration fee is NTD 2,000 per person, including round-trip transportation, lunch, insurance, an English-speaking tour guide, and all planned activities. Please also prepare your own budget for personal expenses, including food and shopping at Luodong Night Market.<\/p>\n
