The Office of International Programs (OIP) warmly invites all exchange students to join a one-day trip to the beautiful Yilan County. Spend a wonderful day exploring Taiwan’s rich culture, local cuisine, and scenic landscapes while enjoying the company of fellow exchange students.
The tour bus will depart from Wanxing Elementary School, conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from NCCU, at 11:00 a.m. As the number of seats is limited, we encourage you to register early. Registration is open until August 13, 2026, or until all available spots have been filled.
Our first stop is the Exploration Kitchen Restaurant at the Anyo Museum, where you will enjoy a delicious hotpot lunch. Customize your meal by choosing beef, pork, seafood, or a vegetarian option as your main dish, along with a selection of fresh vegetables. Ice cream and drinks are also included. After lunch, you will join a brief guided tour of the museum before having free time to explore the exhibitions at your own pace.
The journey continues with a hands-on activity at the I-Cake Invention Gallery. Here, you will discover the traditional technique behind Yilan’s famous ultra-thin biscuits, which are only 0.1 cm thick. During the workshop, you will make your own crispy biscuits and gain a deeper appreciation for this unique local specialty.
To end the day, we will visit Luodong Night Market, one of Yilan’s most popular attractions. Immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere as you sample classic Taiwanese street food, including bubble tea, scallion pancakes, and potato balls. You will also have plenty of time to browse local shops, discover regional specialties, and pick up souvenirs while experiencing Taiwan’s vibrant night market culture. To wrap up the day, we will head back to NCCU by tour bus at 7:30 p.m.
The participation fee is NTD 2,000 per person, which covers round-trip transportation, lunch, insurance, an English-speaking tour guide, and all scheduled activities. We hope you will join us for a memorable day filled with delicious food, cultural discoveries, and unforgettable experiences.
